Name the airport code

You get a city. Type its three-letter code. Every guess shows which letters are right.

How to play

Each round names a city. Type the three-letter IATA code for its main airport, such as LHR for London or SIN for Singapore. After a wrong guess, green means the right letter in the right place, yellow means the letter is in the code but elsewhere, and grey means it is not in the code.

Difficulty

Easy uses codes that start with the city's own first letter and gives you four tries and the first letter. Medium is any airport with three tries. Hard uses only codes that do not start with the city's first letter, hides the country, and gives you two tries.

Why codes look odd

Chicago O'Hare is ORD because it was once Orchard Field, and Toronto is YYZ because Canadian codes began with Y.

Difficulty and modes

Easy, Medium and Hard each have their own puzzle every day, so there are three to play. A tick on the tab means you have finished it. Unlimited is endless survival play at the difficulty you choose: keep going until you slip, and try to beat your personal best, which is saved in your browser.
